An Analysis in Radiological Findings of Multiple Myeloma

Abstract

|
|
Thirteen cases of multiple myeloma patients, which have proven pathologically in Yonsei University, Severance Hospital were analysed. Most cases reveal diffuse, multiple discrete or punched on bony destruction in ribs (12/13, 92.3%), skull(10/13, 76.9%)and spines(10/13, 76.9%), in order of frequency.
Rare radiographic manifestations of multiple myeloma are: localized, expansile and soap-bubble appearance but multiple bony destraction: 4 cases (30.7%), minimal or diffuse osteoblastic change: 4 cases (30.7%), pathologic fracture: 7 cases and soft tissue mass: 1 case.
